Marley & Me is a movie that spans the life of a dog who is dubbed the world's worst dog. A couple (Jennifer Anniston & Owen Wilson) decide to get a puppy to prepare for parenthood. They pick out a puppy that the breeder says she will sell at a discount (this should have given them a clue.)

Marley's antics turn their house and their lives completely upside down. He destroys whole couches in a single bound, gets kicked out of obedience school the first day and sends the dog sitter on a full sprint from the house. Somehow through all this Marley steals everyone's hearts, including the audience.

I read the book and I think the producers did a very good job turning it into a movie. Of course, because it's a movie a lot was left out, like how the refrigerator had to be chained shut to keep Marley out, but overall I think the movie is a nice compliment to the book.

The ads on TV say this movie is a comedy and I was afraid they would make it be too slapstick, but they didn't. In fact parts of it are very sad and I heard lots of sniffing in the audience.

I had never seen Jennifer Anniston in anything, since I don't watch sitcoms, and I was very surprised, she was very good.
So was Owen Wilson.

Overall I think the movie was very well done and should be seen by everyone who has a dog or is thinking of getting one.
