The Chester American Legion Post 664 will host the presentation and an informational overview of the Blue Star Mothers Organization. July 31 Feather River College’s 5th annual fishing derby is being held at Bucks Lake on July 31st The derby is a fundraiser for the fish hatchery at FRC and for student scholarships for students in the fisheries program at FRC in several local high schools.  The FRC hatchery raises between 50,000 to 60,000 pounds of trout of each year, which are planted in Northern California lakes and streams and this event is their main fundraiser. The event includes a barbeque and a raffle of items donated by local and regional businesses, including fishing gear, camping stuff, gift certificates for dinners, hair-cuts, etc.  Launch fees and lunch are included in entry, the raffle is held along with lunch and the weigh in.   Complete rules and registration information are available at www.frc.edu/upcoming events
